Team Tandem collectively sat down in January and wrote a list of their resolutions for the new year. These weren’t just aims of eating less cake (never!) and getting fit after Christmas, but more things that we all wanted to achieve over the coming year. Mrs Tandem wanted to raise money for charity on behalf of the café and many of the other members wanted to set themselves a 5k running goal.
The Hereford Festival of Running seemed like the perfect event – either 5k, 10k, half marathon or marathon races (mmm…maybe next year?!) and all in aid of the wonderful local charity, St Michael’s Hospice.
On Sunday 14th May, we all donned our trainers, put down the cake (temporarily!) and ran around Herefordshire for a good cause. Mr & Mrs Tandem took on the half marathon and the rest of Team Tandem, as well as one super duper mini-Tandemer, took on the 5k route with lots of family and friends coming down to support, cheer and push us to that finish line!
I am so proud of each member of Team Tandem for challenging themselves and achieving one of their goals for this year. We had a fabulous day in the sunshine and, most importantly, raised over £200 for St Michael’s Hospice.
What’s the next challenge Team Tandem?!
So incredibly proud of Team Tandem today, running to raise money for the wonderful #stmichaelshospice. You lot are flipping brilliant. Thank you also to the other half of Team Tandem who manned the shop so we could get out running, we're so grateful. #teamtandem #herefordfestivalofrunning #charity #stmichaelshospice
